Worldwide, 1 in 3 women will experience physical and/or sexual violence by an intimate partner, or sexual violence by a non-partner at some point in their life. Women who have experienced violence use health services more than non-abused ones. Health professionals are in a position to address the needs of women who have experienced violence.
